3D Printing

3D printing (Additive Manufacturing) which is one of the rapid prototyping technologies used for powder cohesive metal printing. XC Precision provides SLA, SLS, SLM printing services for all kinds of mechanical designs. Comparing to traditional manufacturing technologies, 3D printing has a good reputation in quick delivery time, cheap price and highly complex structures.

What is SLA?

SLA (Stereo Lithography Appearance)Ultraviolet laser with specific wavelength and strength focus on the surface of photocureable materials, which makes material solidified from point to line, and line to surface, until complete one layer of printing, then the lifting platform in the vertical direction moves a layer of height to solidify another layer. In this way, these layers are stacked up to form a three-dimensional model.

 

SLA can be used to make complicated structures, work in fast speed, materials is feliable for surface finish like Painting or Silk Screen, so it is a better choice for your appearance prototypes. Normally, the tolerance can be control within +/-0.15mm. And the Maximum size: 880*800*390mm

But SLA printed parts are mostly resin, with limited intensity, rigidity and heat resistance, which is not good for long-term preservation.

What is SLS?

Selective Laser Sintering( SLS laser molding ) SLS is one of the 3D printing technologies, most use powder materials and adopt energy of infrared laser. The common materials are PA12 and PA12+GF


If you need the part with better strengthen and more flexiable on assembly, especially the complex structure on design for some functional testing then SLS would be a better choice.


But the surface of SLS printing parts was rough in original, it will take more work to polish before painting, so it is not an good way for painting.

What is SLM?


SLM(Selective Laser Melting) is the most common technology in 3D printing, adopting fine focusing spot to quickly melt metal powder on-premise, then get parts with any shape and fully metallurgical bounded, and the density of parts can meet 99% at least.

 

Normal materials are Aluminum Alloy,Stainless Steel and Titanium Alloy. It is also good for making some complex parts,It is hard to meet high precision or the good surface. Tolerance is 0.15mm.

To improve the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the product by changing the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of the surface layer.Or to get a good looking in the parts. We all need to do with the surface treatment in the original parts. Traditional surface finishing methods mainly include: Anodizing, Chromate, Galvanizing, Electrophoresis, Bluing, Blackening, Passivation, Spraying, Powder Coating, Polishing and Sandblasting.
